VÚKV a. s. offers complex solutions of development projects from the opening study via the design, construction, preparation of drawing documentation and cooperation in manufacture of prototypes, to approval and commissioning. The principal areas of activity are the projects of railway vehicles including the components used on them.

The most close cooperation with the client and the final manufacturer is self-evident in all projects. The goal is to respect the technological conventions of the producer, use of selected half-products and technically and financially beneficial sub-supplies.

The main activities in the vehicle development area are:

• Development of new vehicles;
• Refurbishment of existing vehicles;
• Development and assembly of parts of vehicles – rough body structure, bogies, coupling systems, drives, interior fittings, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, brake systems;
• Strength calculations and expert opinions;
• Aerodynamics of rail vehicles;
• Simulation calculations of running behaviour;
• functional calculations (e.g. outline);
• Manufacturing consultancy.

New rolling stock projects

VÚKV a. s. deals with development of new vehicles used for both passenger and freight transport. The company uses for this development an in-house team of specialists that is extended with external experts if needed.

VÚKV a. s. offers complex engineering service for prototype development and serial manufacture of railway vehicles.

Prototype development includes the following activities:

• Initial feasibility study;
• Preparation of project documentation;
• Preparation of design documentation;
• Calculation support:

• Assistance in prototype manufacturing;

Approval process support.

Modernisation or face lifting projects

The significantly different service life of some vehicle parts makes possible to operate modernised vehicles after modernisation with correspondence to current technology status and yet cheaper than a completely new railway vehicle.
